Tasting notes
This wine is just stunning, starting with aromas of fragrant blue flower, red berry, camphor, dark spice and underbrush. Reflecting the aromas, the smooth, delicious palate delivers raspberry compote, ripe cherry, and licorice accompanied by polished tannins while fresh acidity offers youthful tension.

Within the context of this set of new releases from Comm. G.B. Burlotto, this wine stands far apart. The 2018 Barolo Monvigliero is linear and light, but it also shows good fruit weight. This is exactly the classic duality of Monvigliero (a village that traditionally incorporates whole clusters in fermentation). Spice, cola, licorice, grilled herb and dried cherry appear to lift over a fine and delicately tapered mouthfeel.
About the producer

Burlotto has re-established itself as one of Barolo’s most revered producers, with Fabio Alessandria reviving the estate’s historic reputation. Known for their traditional methods and expressive, age-worthy wines, Burlotto’s bottlings are now among the most sought-after in Piedmont.
