The 2021 Latour-Martillac Blanc has a knockout nose with apple blossom, nettle, wet pavement and citrus peel aromas. Real energy here. The palate is well balanced with fine concentration, taut and fresh with plenty of extract, touches of spice emerge towards the finish. Excellent.
The 2021 Latour-Martillac blanc is made from 57% Sauvignon Blanc and 43% Semillon, harvested from 9 to 21 September with yields of 46 hl/ha, and aging in 25% new oak. It leaps with notes of fresh pears, yellow apples, and grapefruit, plus hints of nutmeg and fennel seed. Light to medium-bodied, the palate has loads of zing, with crisp apple and citrus flavors and a zesty finish.
Honeysuckle, orange rind, lemon peel, flowers, green apples and pineapple create the enticing perfume. Juicy, crisp, fresh and creamy on the palate, with a sweetness to the yellow citrus along with crisp freshness in the finish.
