The 2021 Château Bolaire showed well, with a medium-bodied, elegant, slightly dilute style as well as attractive red berries, sappy herbs, and floral notes. Hopefully it will put on some weight over the course of its élevage.
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2021 Bolaire opens with hints of tar and wild thyme over a core of baked plums and red currant jelly. Light to medium-bodied, the palate has a chewy texture and lively backbone finishing on a red fruit note. The blend is 50% Petit Verdot and 50% Merlot. Yields were 50 hl/ha.
Plums and cherries with cocoa show up easily in the round, fruity palate and finish.
