Tasting notes
100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Made entirely from the alluvial fan laid down by Simmons Creek in what the team considers the heart of the Eisele vineyard. Certified organic by CCOF and biodynamic by Demeter. Released June 2018. An expressive, and exuberant vintage of Eisele, carrying notes of pine and bay, graphite, and gunmetal, savoury and earthy notes on a backdrop of mixed fruits. The palate is wonderfully savoury with light allusions to bacon fat, yet still an overall feeling of elegance and restraint. The wine is delicious – mouth-watering, elegant, and persistent – with succulent, fine-grained tannins and a lightly peppery finish. Citrus and herbal notes emerge with air, and the wine gains an almost creamy mouthfeel. (ECB)

Vibrant, yet fleshy, full, but refined, voluminous, the wine has depth and silky tannins. On the nose, you find smoke, earth, cigar box and ripe, dark plums, black cherry and blackberry. The finish is all about is sensuous textures and the bolt of dark chocolate covered, juicy, polished, sexy dark, red fruits. It\'s interesting to note that even though the wine is already expressing itself, you can easily hold this for 20 years for future development. 96 Points
Eisele Vineyard's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is without question one of the wines of the vintage. Majestic and soaring in the glass, the 2015 is absolutely stunning from the very first taste. A rush of dark fruit, graphite, grilled herb, smoke, leather, earthiness and exotic spices makes a bold opening statement, but it is the wine's breath, volume and sheer intensity that are all off the charts. I tasted the 2015 blind in a flight of wines from Calistoga's Pickett Road neighborhood. All of the wines were terrific, but the wine that was most moving and most profound was unquestionably the 2015 from Eisele Vineyard. (AG)
