Tasting notes
The 2020 Corton Grand Cru Clos Rognet is rich and dramatic this year, bursting with aromas of cherries, plums, wild berries, peonies and toasty new oak. Full-bodied, ample and enveloping, with a ripe core of fruit and chewy structuring tannins, it's more marked by the extremes of the vintage than the Corton Perrières.

Like the Corton Perrires, the Corton Rognet weighs in at 14.3% Huge rich purple colour. Very rich fruitcake nose, possibly a hair too plummy. Could have picked two days earlier, but the essential backbone is definitely there on the palate and it starts to come together much better at the end with the quintessential class of this vineyard. I think longer elevage and indeed the racking may bring this altogether. Tasted: December 2021
The 2020 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru has a little more precision on the nose than the Corton-Perrières, focused and quite energetic. The palate is medium-bodied with more strictness, quite serious with wonderful tension on the finish. This builds marvellously in the mouth. Do not overlook this excellent Corton.
