Tasting notes
Pavelot’s Corton Blanc is a rare wonder. Grown on what is most commonly identified as Pinot Noir territory in the Chaumes section of the Corton hill, Pavelot produces a tiny amount of Chardonnay (around just 25 cases). It is a wine that bristles with energy. The nose is delicate, with a complex bouquet of white floral aromas. The palate is rich with a lovely textural quality and good grip of acidity. On the mid-palate there is great interplay between fresh apple fruit and saline notes. The tension builds with an impressive focus to the finish.

The 2020 Corton Blanc Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet with touches of passion fruit, wild peach and light candle wax aromas. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, embracing those tropical notes but not allowing their to dominate the terroir, the 20% new oak neatly integrted on the finish. This will be quite delicious.
