Tasting notes
The 2013 Barbaresco Crichët Pajè brings together so many of the elements that make the Roagna wines so compelling today. In the past, Crichët Pajè was a huge, tannic wine. The 2013, on the other hand, is incredibly finessed. Sweet red cherry, rose petal, blood orange, cedar, kirsch and cinnamon are some of the many notes that grace the 2013. Sensual and silky, the 2013 is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. There's real depth and substance here. What a wine.

I can’t think of a better wine to end this tasting with than with the 2013 Barbaresco Crichët Pajé. Tasted from magnum, the 2013 dazzles with its combination of explosive energy and sheer elegance. Rose petals, cinnamon, crushed rocks, mint and white pepper are some of the many notes that emerge from this wonderfully complex, dynamic Barbaresco. Quite simply, the 2013 is unforgettable.
About the producer

Roagna is one of Italy’s finest estates, producing top, single-vineyard Nebbiolos in Barbaresco and Barolo. The estate’s Crichët Pajé Barbaresco is one of the rarest fine wine cuvées in Piedmont with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced each year.
