Tasting notes
Brilliant violet. Intensely perfumed, spice-tinged red and blue fruits, candied flowers and a hint of cola on the highly expressive nose. Broad and fleshy on entry, offering juicy raspberry, blueberry and spicecake flavors that are sharpened by a jolt of smoky minerality. The blue fruit and spice notes echo strongly on the very long, gently tannic and expressive finish, which features lingering floral and mineral nuances.

The 2018 vintage is made from four vineyards of Garnacha, situated between 750 and 900 m elevation , fermented together in an open vat with 20% whole bunches. The wine remained sur lie in used 500-litre, fine-grained French oak barrels for 12 months. Production of 4,100 bottles and 150 magnums. This is a lively nose! The aromas evolve from elegant ripe red fruits to very subtle and distinguishing mountain herbs. On the palate, is a wonderful combination of concentration and energy, complexity and smoothness. A deep wine with a silky texture. Beautiful wine! Juicy and deep Garnacha at its best! (FC)
The 2018 El Cismático was produced with old-vine Garnacha from the villages of Villarroya de la Sierra and Cervera de la Cañada, four small vineyards. It fermented in open-top vats with 20% full clusters and was punched down by hand. They wine matured in second use 500-liter French oak barrels and some concrete for 13 months. As a lot of the reds are completely unoaked, this felt quite oaky and creamy, one that needs a little more time in bottle to absorb the impact from the wood. The wine is floral, expressive, showy and exuberant, peachy and juicy, with very fine tannins, with good acidity and balanced alcohol, harmonious, reflecting a slow and good ripening of the grapes. Most of these reds are showy and exuberant, not shy wines at all, generous and hedonistic. 4,100 bottles and 150 magnums produced.
