Tasting notes
Cru bourgeois supérieur. 93% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc. A Dourthe estate, on ‘magnificent plateau and clay-limestone slopes’. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 23% new. Very grainy and textured. Is this limestone expressing itself? Fresh and lively. But a tad spindly. (JR)

The 2020 Reysson, which is mainly Merlot, has a floral bouquet with peony and iris flower infusing the red berry fruit, touches of camphor in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a lively entry, quite tension, an almost citric line of acidity with a high-toned, slightly angular finish. Afford this 2-3 years in bottle.
The 2020 Reysson (Merlot) is a pretty, understated Haut-Médoc Bordeaux Supérieur. Crushed flowers, herbs, gravel, incense and tobacco give this mid-weight 2020 lovely aromatic presence.
