NV Oudiette Les Gras d'Huile

Based on the 2020 vintage and complemented by 26% reserve wines maintained as a perpetual cuvée established in 2015, Oudiette’s NV Blanc de Blancs Les Gras d’Huile—disgorged in September 2023 without dosage—unfurls from the glass with aromas of Granny Smith apple, lemon zest, gooseberry and spring blossoms and a hint of peeled almonds. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and aromatically expressive yet structurally taut, displaying brisk acidity, palpable tension and a pillowy mousse before concluding with a saline finish. As ever, the wine hails from a one-hectare, south-facing parcel of clay-rich soils, planted to Chardonnay between 1993 and 2004.
