Tasting notes
The 2017 Blanc de Blancs La Bolorée shows its typical brightness and energy, but like all the 2017s in the range, the volume is turned down and there is just less of the heady, explosive richness found in the very best years. White pepper, green orchard fruit, crushed rocks and flowers lend nuance. La Bolorée has a track record of aging beautifully. I am deeply interested in seeing where the 2017 goes in the coming years. No dosage. Disgorged: April, 2021.

The 2017 Blanc de Blancs La Bolorée is the most fine-boned and elegant wine in the range this year, as well as being—as usual—the most reserved out of the gates. Offering up aromas of citrus oil, wild yeast, orange zest, Asian pear and wet stones, it's medium to full-bodied, taut and concentrated, with racy acids and a long, pungently mineral finish. This has a very bright future ahead of it.
