The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte Grand Cru has a stunning mineral-driven, energetic bouquet, with exquisite delineation and wonderful composure. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-chiseled tannins. This is blessed with uncommon steeliness for the vintage, showing an abundance of energy with a vibrant, ginger-tinged finish that lingers long in the mouth. Superb! The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte Grand Cru is showing brilliantly, bursting with aromas of pear, citrus oil, honeycomb, buttered toast and struck match. Full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's long and multidimensional, with racy acids and a penetrating, saline finish. From a small terrace above Montrachet, "La Cabotte" has been bottled separately since 1997.
The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte Grand Cru is more backward and tight on the nose than the regular Chevalier, though with aeration subtle Golden Delicious apple, white Chinese tea and citrus aromas emerge. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline entry. This has a little more nervosité than the regular cuvée and displays excellent delineation on the flinty finish. Great potential.
