Tasting notes
Another stunning success, the 2018 Meursault Les Petits Charrons delivers notes of citrus oil, white flowers, Anjou pear, blanched almonds and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, it's concentrated and mouthwatering, with a fine-boned, racy profile. Ente describes this cuvée as "the least stereotypically Meursault of my range," and one can see why.

This parcel is between Les Grands Charrons and Les Chevalières lieux-dits. All barrels, 15% new. Tank sample. Deeper fruited on the nose compared with the Clos des Ambres, rich aroma. Lightly spiced. Deeper and more intense citrus here, great intensity all wound up with pure zingy citrus. At the core is an arrow of tension and freshness, as in the Clos des Ambres. A high-wire act but the wire is clothed in fruit. Like a pipe cleaner. Long, spicy finish that spreads across the palate. Endless. (JH)
A pretty and attractively layered mix features ripe aromas of both white and yellow orchard fruit that display additional breadth in the form of acacia and roasted nut. There is a bit more vibrancy if less power on the more obviously mineral-inflected flavors that deliver lovely length on the balanced bitter citrus rind finish.
