Tasting notes
The 2017 Chianti Classico is fabulous. Bright, punchy and so full of character, the 2017 is absolutely delicious. Sweet berry, cedar, tobacco, rose petal and subtle earthy notes all grace the 2017, an exquisite wine that will drink well with minimal cellaring. More than anything, I am so impressed with the wine's energy.

Barberino Tavarnelle. 82% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo, 3% Syrah. Mid crimson. Stony, saline nose of cherry fruit. Elegant, sappy sweet red fruit with a layer of powdery tannins. Its freshness is impressive for this torrid vintage. (WS)
Baberino Tavarnelle. 83% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo, 2% Syrah. Cask sample. Mid ruby. A nose rich with spice but the fruit is very subdued and brooding. Gorgeous succulent fruit on the palate with bags of firm tannins. (WS)
