Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon ERA is dark, plush and super-expressive. Plum, lavender, mocha and bittersweet chocolate are some of the many notes that are pushed forward. Large in scale and powerful, the ERA will appeal most to readers who enjoy the bolder, more flamboyant side of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

A step up over the sensational 2014, Alpha Omega’s 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon ERA is a cellar selection of the top lots and comes from multiple vineyards. It’s a concentrated, sexy beauty that shows the hallmark sweetness and opulence of the vintage, yet backs it up with depth, structured and a layered, multi-dimensional texture. Cassis, toasty oak, licorice, smoked tobacco, damp earth, and graphite all flow to a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that’s impeccably balanced, has building, sweet tannin, and serious length. Give bottles 4-5 years of cellaring and enjoy over the following two decades or more. Along with consultant Michel Rolland, winemaker Jean Hoefliger has produced an incredible number of killer wines in 2014 and 2015. If you’re interested in learning about all the various sites throughout the Valley, this is a good place to start.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Era Proprietary Red Wine gives notes of baked blackberries, blueberry pie and crushed plums with hints of chargrill, sautéed herbs, cedar and mocha. Full-bodied, richly fruited and packed with expressive black berry preserves and savory notions, it has a gorgeous velvety and lively backbone with some spicy nuances coming through on the long finish.
