Stony, exposed vineyard. Some whole bunches. Deep, black-fruit nose with a nutty oak note and a flinty undertow. Firm, but quite fine tannins with a floral, long finish. Structured, but not rustic. Good length. (TJ)

The 2018 Pommard Clos des Arvelets 1er Cru is completely de-stemmed and matured in 20% new oak. It has a crisp, perfumed bouquet of blackberry, wild hedgerow and light cedar aromas. The medium-bodied palate offers crunchy black fruit laced with white pepper and a touch of graphite, all very well proportioned. There is good length on the savory finish. Very fine.
