The 2015 Solo MM15, a varietal Vitovska, hails from a small parcel on pure limestone soils, which communicates wonderfully through both the bouquet and palate. Notes of young pear, morning dew, wet stone, hints of sage and spiced lemon form up its dramatic yet earthy persona. It’s salty, savory and spry, stimulating the senses with nervous acids and mineral intensity, while leaving a pretty note of crisp green apple in its wake. There’s so much going on here that I’d suggest even decanting the wine to open up its multifaceted charms. The Solo is fermented in amphorae and then aged for two-and-a-half years in Slavonian botti prior to bottling.
