The 2018 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru sports a small reduction on the nose, though there is definitely plenty of fruit underneath, touches of grilled walnut and smoke. Subtle, yet convincing. The palate is well-balanced with fine-boned structure, focused and saline, almost Puligny-like towards the finish. This is a classy offering that it does require some bottle age to manifest more personality. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
The 2018 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru is very precise on the focused, refined nose, featuring touches of hazelnut and wild mint. The palate is very well balanced with a more rounded entry than the Porusots, and elegant toward the harmonious finish, which reveals subtle spice notes and a tang of marmalade on the aftertaste. Tender and refined.
The 2018 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru has a refined bouquet with scents of pressed yellow flowers infusing the citrus fruit, touches of ocean spray emerging and lending complexity with time. The palate is extremely well balanced. A quintessential Genevrières with a killer saline finish that is an absolute joy. Wonderful.
