Tasting notes
The 2018 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru has a fragrant, well-defined bouquet, with orange and apple blossoms, citrus fruit and a suggestion of baked bread. The palate is well-defined, light and balanced with a pleasant bite on the entry. Though not complex, it does lack a bit of grip on the finish. As such, I would broach this flattering Meursault over the next decade, not longer. This does not quite match up to its showing from barrel. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

Scents of citrus oil, white flowers, beeswax and bread dough introduce the 2018 Meursault Blagny 1er Cru, a medium to full-bodied and satiny wine that's bright and lively, with an open-knit, moderately concentrated core and a saline, mouthwatering finish. This will drink well young.
Strongly citrus nose. Then quite heavy and ripe on the palate. Sturdy rather than ethereal. Pretty chewy finish. (JR)
