Tasting notes
The 2018 Meursault Village has a slightly muddled nose that just needs to find a little clarity. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, and here this Meursault is nicely focused, albeit needing a little more substance on the finish.

Aromas of pear, wheat toast and white flowers introduce the 2018 Meursault Village, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural wine with lively acids and good length on the sapid finish.
Barrel sample. Three parcels between Volnay and Meursault. Red soils. Fermented and aged in barrel but none new because the wine is already structured and oak would reinforce that too much. Ripe citrus, even a hint of honey on the nose, but not sweet. On the palate, deep and rich, chewy. Substantial but fresh. Fades a little after a powerful start. (JH)
