Tasted from a pre-release bottle, the red 2014 Roda I shows the difficulties of the vintage and feels more advanced than the 2013 I tasted next to it. It has a mixture of red and black fruit, some spice and is not 100% focused, as it usually is. 92,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2017.
About the producer

While being one of the youngest estates in Rioja, Bodegas Roda has quickly become one of its finest and certainly most innovative. The estate was set up in 1987. The name Roda is the contraction of the two owners’ names, Mario Rottlant Solá and Carmen Daurella Aguilera
