Tasting notes
Furry tannins, austere fruit, savoury finish. Modern and stylised, and not much like Rioja as most people know it (which perhaps explains this producer's choice to declassify). Again, I wonder if this is suffering from having been rebottled into sample bottles? (RH)

The bottled 2017 Valdeginés from a slope in Laguardia felt quite harmonious and tender, somehow a fresh and jovial Tempranillo (in the context of the other single-vineyard Tempranillo bottling). There are fresh flavors of cherries and licorice, ripe but without excess, with weight and balance, round tannins and a dry, tasty finish. A happy Tempranillo. 9,216 bottles were filled in July 2019.
