Tasting notes
The 2015 Warwick Estate, known as "Trilogy" outside the United States, is Warwick’s flagship brand: 41% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot from the most established vines on the estate, the higher proportion of Cabernet Franc due to younger vines reaching the age where it can be blended into this label. The bouquet is fresh with ample brambly black fruit, cedar and light tobacco notes, the 45% new oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, impressive depth of fruit and a grippy, slightly foursquare finish with just a touch of black pepper originating from the Cabernet Franc.

About the producer

With vineyards at the foot of the Simonsberg in Stellenbosch, Warwick Estate is one of South Africa’s most established wine producers. The Ratcliffe family converted the farm to viticulture and started making Bordeaux-inspired blends in the 1980s, including its flagship Trilogy.
