Score 18.5/20 · Drink 2030-2045, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Dec 2018
100% new oak. Barrel sample – already racked from barrel to barrel. Dark and a little charry on the nose. Black cherries and darkest chocolate, almost cassis. A touch stony/smoky too. Generous and rich on the palate, incredibly smooth tannins, completely clothed in clean, dark, lively fruit. Intense, deep and seductively smooth but has so much more to give. Long, dry finish. A dark beauty and the oak eaten by the fruit. (JH)
