The 2013 Cornas Lieu Dit Patou is outstanding. Destemmed and aged 14 months in 15% new oak, it offers classic cassis and black cherry notes as well as roasted herbs, charcoal and olive. Medium-bodied, beautifully balanced and with building, fine tannin, it’s a high class Cornas to enjoy over the coming 8-10 years.

Inky purple. Deeply pitched blackcurrant and mulberry aromas, along with hints of smoky oak, licorice and floral oils. Fleshy dark berry preserve flavors show appealing sweetness, with smoky herb, spicecake and subtle chewing tobacco qualities building with air. Delivers very good clarity on the broad, persistent finish, which is framed by supple, even tannins. This vineyard lies at the southern end of the appellation, near the border of Saint-Péray.
