Score 88/100 · Drink 2018-2022, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017
The 2016 Saint Joseph features herbal, peppery aromas dusted over a bed of cherry-berry fruit. It's a medium-bodied, silky-textured wine for drinking over the next 3-4 years. It's a fine, delicate style of Syrah reminiscent of Pinot Noir.

Reduced character making the nose rather dumb. Deep black fruit on the palate, with very fine chalky tannin and attractive floral fragrance on the finish. Should open up after another six months or so. (RH)
