Score 89/100 · Drink 2017-2027, Robert Parker, Dec 2016

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is relatively forward, but does have more austerity, which may just be it symbolic of it closing down now that it’s in bottle. The wine is well-made, clean, rich, ripe and nicely textured. It should drink nicely for another 7-10 years.

A relatively realistic, pop-and-pour style of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is blended from multiple AVAs and aged in about 35% new French oak. It offers rich blueberry and blackcurrant fruit with hints of roasted herbs and spice box. It is medium-bodied, soft, round and juicy. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.

Benoit Touquette's Teeter-Totter 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a fun, boisterous wine to drink over the next handful of years, while the fruit remains fleshy and succulent. Healthy dollops of Syrah, Petit Verdot and Merlot add darkness and juiciness throughout. Black cherry, mocha, plum and spice flow through to the exuberant finish. There is a joyful, playful quality to the Teeter-Totter Cabernet that I find immensely appealing. (AG)
