Fabulous value at around £10, apparently from 90-year-old vines . Sweet, opulent berry flavours – almost reminiscent of Zinfandel. Very, very sweet and pretty tannic with the slightest of holes in the middle but a lovely round texture. (JR)

A great value, the spectacular 2002 Grenache Noir (aged 18 months in neutral French oak) reveals a classic kiss of kirsch liqueur along with licorice, pepper, and loamy soil notes. Produced from 90-year-old vines, it boasts a dense ruby color, full body, good underlying acidity, and beautiful texture as well as length. Consume it now and over the next 7-8 years.
