Tasting notes
(66% cabernet sauvignon and 34% malbec) Ruby-red. Currant, chocolate and smoke on the nose, with some wilder notes of meat and leather. Lusher and sweeter than the 2002, with a more pliant texture. This boasts highly complex flavors of black cherry, plum, redcurrant, black olive, tobacco leaf and spices. There are green notes here as well, but plenty of supporting sweetness and personality. Finishes with firm but fine tannins and a slight herbal quality. I'd like to see this again in two or three years. Bodegas Caro is a joint venture between Nicolas Catena and Chateau Lafite-Rothschild.

(cabernet sauvignon and malbec) Bright red-ruby. Deep, ripe, subtle aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, flowers and chocolate. Vinous and penetrating, but also seamlessly smooth, with fruit-driven flavors of raspberry and currant framed and carried by lovely acidity. Has the texture and weight of Bordeaux , even if it's still a bit tightly wound. Finishes very long and juicy, with noble tannins. This is a joint venture between Catena and Lafite-Rothschild, which is about as impressive a pedigree as you'll find in Argentine wine.
