The 2018 Pierre 1er has not lost its very ripe and smudged aromatics, very hedonistic but missing a bit of soul. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet black fruit but a rather raw finish that feels static.

Showing beautifully, the 2018 Château Pierre 1er offers a floral, perfumed nose revealing lots of blue fruits, wildflowers, plum, chocolate, and spice-driven nuances. With medium to full-bodied richness, ripe, silky tannins, and a great finish, this is another pleasure-bent, seamless, elegant 2018 with loads to love. It's going to shine over the coming 10-15 years.
The 2018 Pierre 1er is a powerful, brooding wine. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, leather, licorice, menthol, earthiness and dried herbs are all amplified in this decidedly virile Saint-Émilion. I would give the 2018 a few years in bottle to help soften the tannins.
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Pierre 1er gives up expressive notes of Black Forest cake, blueberry preserves and boysenberries, followed by hints of menthol, pencil shavings and fallen leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with open-knit, ready to enjoy fruit, supported by soft, rounded tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing with a lively lift.
