Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot from this recent addition to the Burgundy micro-négoçiant community has a perfumed, more floral bouquet with yellow flowers, citrus lemon and lifted cold stone/mineral scents. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a waxy texture, the oak more prominent than on the nose and smudging the delineation on the finish. It started so well but does not build on that initial promise.
