50% Sémillon, 50% Sauvignon Blanc. Cask sample. Very rich and round. Big and smoky and rather irresistible because so evolved and ready! It’s so spicy it tastes almost like Sauvignon Gris… Difficult to spit – but perhaps not the most refreshing dry white. Seems off dry. (JR)

The 2018 G de Guiraud gives up scents of poached pears, lemon marmalade and fresh pineapple with touches of lime zest and white pepper. Medium-bodied, the palate has plenty of zip in its step with some herb and chalk layers emerging on the finish.

Barrel sample. Dry and stony on the palate but fresh and lively, just not particularly intense. Persistent nevertheless in that stony purity. (JH)
