Score 89/100 · Drink 2019-2026, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2019

The 2016 Bourgogne Pinot Fin unfurls in the glass with aromas of berries, currants, raw cocoa and licorice. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with tangier acids and a tighter-knit core than the 2017 rendition, concluding with a long, fragrant finish. The cuvée's name indicates its provenance from superior selections of Pinot Noir that produce small berries and open clusters.

The 2016 Bourgogne "Pinot Fin" comes from several parcels and sees 60% whole cluster. It offers attractive brambly black fruit on the nose. The palate is well defined with red plum and raspberry, and a pleasant sous-bois element towards the nicely framed finish.

Mid depth bright garnet. Very slight sweatiness on the nose. Fresh palate. Lots of chew. Could do with a little more fruit concentration in the middle. (JR)
