Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Deeply perfumed cherry and dark berry qualities on the spice- and mineral-tinged nose. Chewy and focused on the palate, offering ripe boysenberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors and a touch of musky licorice. Finishes youthfully tannic and long, leaving behind sappy blue fruit, earth and spicecake notes.

Produced from very old vines, the 2017 Brouilly Cuvée des Fous is wonderful, unfurling in the glass with notes of ripe cherries, candied peel, blood orange and raspberries. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, richly tannic and pure, with considerable concentration, depth and dimension, concluding with a long, youthfully chewy finish. This is the most multifaceted and incipiently complex of Lapalu’s wines.
