Tasting notes
The 2010 Barolo Briccotto is immensely soft and velvety with a bold and immediate style that is uncommon in the 2010 vintage. Compared to other wines from 2010 that are initially shy and hesitant, the Barolo Briccotto sings in a loud and clear voice the second you pour it from the bottle. Drink: 2017-2035. Good bright, dark red. Red cherry, mocha, licorice and dried flowers on the nose and palate, accented by mint and menthol. Juicy, sappy and youthfully tight; less obviously dense than the 2009 but displays terrific cut and really fills the mouth with perfume. Finishes with a firm tannic spine. I'd give this five or six years of cellaring.
