A wine bottled without any added sulfites, the 2016 Ventoux Nature is a beautiful wine that’s made from 30% each of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, with the balance Cinsault. Aged all on lees for 6 months and bottled early, it’s a plump, seamless beauty that offer lots of cassis and blackberry fruit, classy aromatics of violets and ground pepper, medium to full-bodied richness and a great finish. It’s one sexy red designed for near term drinking. I was blown away by these barrel samples from Domaine de Fondrèche and these are the real deal. Anyone doubting world class wines are coming from this appellation owe it to themselves to try these wines.
