Tasting notes
(14% alcohol) Good dark red. Raspberry, cherry, smoke and a whiff of orange peel on the nose. Juicy berry flavor complicated by smoke, leather and game. Firm acids give this solid, very ripe wine good grip, but the tannins are nicely sweet. This is a bit youthfully tight today and should be better for a few years of additional bottle aging.

Elegant and medium-bodied, with notes of herbs, smoke, red and black currants, and cedar, the evolved 2002 displays a short finish, but it is a pleasant, seductive effort to enjoy over the next 5-6 years.
Bright ruby-red. High-toned aromas of dark berries, espresso and violet. Juicy and penetrating, with nicely delineated dark berry flavors. Not quite as complex or sweet as the young 2003; here the dusty tannins are a bit tougher, accentuated by the wine's acidity.
