Dry and juicy, with rich, smoky flavors of quince paste, candied orange peel, roast nut, clove and brioche set in a firm frame. Maintains a springy vibrancy despite its steely backbone, showing fine balance throughout. Drink now through 2022. 6,000 cases made, 500 cases imported.

The 2002 Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Le Millesime Par Lenoble will require considerable patience, as it remains tightly coiled, inward and painfully young. With air, the wine’s poise and beautifully articulated Chardonnay fruit begin to emerge. Even today, it is impossible not to admire the wine’s crystalline purity and long, chiseled finish. This is Lot L 102862402, disgorged October 7, 2010.
