Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2014

The 2012 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot has a lifted nettle and lime flower bouquet that is earthier than the Morgeot, perhaps a little more rustic. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, with good acidity, nicely poised but needing to develop a more nuances on the finish. Fine.

Bright yellow. Complex, expressive aromas of pear, white flowers, mint, wild herbs and fresh hay. Round and moderately deep but less nuanced on the palate than on the nose today. Shows a slightly disjointed sweet/dry quality today, with some acidity yet to be absorbed. But there's nothing honeyed or overripe about this Morgeot cuvee.
