Mid bright purplish crimson. Sweet damson juice on the nose. Seriously crunchy fruit with no shortage of (granite-influenced?) fine tannins. No hurry to drink this serious wine at a price that's not too serious. Should respond well to a very slight cooling when it's ready. GV (JR)

The 2015 Morgon Cote de Py is matured two-thirds in stainless steel and the remainder in a combination of barriques and foudres. It offers attractive black cherries and raspberry on the nose, hints of wilted rose petals emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe blackberry and raspberry, cutting away just a tad too swiftly on the finish. Hopefully it will gain flesh with a few months in bottle.
