Tasting notes
The 2017 Tour de Termes is exuberant and bold, but also very easy to enjoy. A rush of super-inky jammy fruit, licorice, spice, mint and vanillin adds to the wine's exotic, flamboyant personality. This is an especially ripe, oaky style and even so, there is a level of purity to the fruit that makes me think Tour de Termes could be a seriously better and more pedigreed wine. There is plenty of potential, but it will require a lighter hand to uncover. This Cru Bourgeois is very good, but it could be so much more than that. Tasted two times.

The 2017 Tour des Termes has an attractive bouquet with black fruit laced with tobacco and pressed flower aromas. I appreciate the vigor here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, crisp acidity, quite fresh with a pastille-like purity on the finish. Fine.
The 2017 Tour de Termes is a supple, fruity Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois to drink over the near and medium term. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, licorice and sweet spice are all pushed forward in this attractive, mid-weight wine. Although, not especially complex or structured, the 2017 should offer plenty of pleasure over the next few years. Tasted two times.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Tour des Termes gives up blackberries, cassis and earth notes with touches of garrigue and bay leaves. The medium-bodied mouth is elegant and fresh with ripe, fine-grained tannins and an earthy finish.
