Tasting notes
Doisy-Daëne's 2017 Blanc Sec is an attractive wine, but either it has not developed as well as I had hoped, or I caught an off bottle. Floral and tropical flavors are nicely delineated, but there is also a dry edge that was not present in barrel.

The Doisy Daëne 2017 Blanc Sec gives up alluring scents of white peaches, pink grapefruit and passion fruit with hints of beeswax and wild thyme. Medium-bodied, the palate is seriously zippy with a well-expressed citrusy core and a lingering zesty finish.
Opulent oak influence giving sweet spices, a touch of blackcurrant leaf, juicy and sweet and candied. Open and expressive, with a lovely cooked dairy element to finish. (RH)
Doisy-Daëne's 2017 Blanc Sec is an absolutely gorgeous dry white. Expressive floral and lightly honeyed notes add attractive elements of exoticism. Beautifully textured and light on its feet, the Blanc Sec is one of the most compelling dry whites being made in Sauternes today.
About the producer

This Second Growth estate has origins dating back to the late 1800s. It is, however, under the ownership of the Dubourdieu family – who took over the Barsac property in 1924 – that Ch. Doisy-Daëne truly flourished.
