Score 94/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2016
The 2011 Barbaresco Montefico Vecchie Viti is a bit more reserved and tightly wound than the Asili, with biting, firm tannins and less to give now. Then again, it's Montefico. Dark cherry, smoke, tobacco, licorice and plum meld into the huge finish. Readers will have to be quite patient, but there is plenty to look forward to, especially for readers who enjoy virile, classically built Nebbiolos.
