Tasting notes
The 2016 Chablis Village has a fragrant, quite floral bouquet with hints of linden and orange pith. The palate is taut on the entry, quite malic at first with orange rind and hints of marmalade towards the finish that just does not quite deliver the precision and mineralité that it showed out of barrel. As such, I would drink this sooner rather than later.

Aromas of lemon, stone and menthol suggest an austere wine. Juicy and energetic in the mouth, displaying a brisk citrus edge and saline minerality. A very good, classic village wine in the making.
The 2016 Chablis Villages, which is matured in barrel, has quite a punchy nose of peach skin, tangerine and a light flinty note tucked underneath. The palate is fresh on the entry with good weight but maybe just missing the tension and nervosité of recent vintages. Hopefully it will develop a little more energy by the time it is bottled.
