Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2036, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Oct 2024
The 2016 Chardonnay Charles Ranch demands plenty of air to reveal scents of Meyer lemon, mushrooms, roasted almonds and panna cotta. The palate is much more open, its powerful, savory flavors delivered in a satiny texture. Its generosity is tempered by firm, focused acidity, and it has a long, nuanced finish. It’s maturing slowly and will mature gracefully over the next decade at least.

A gorgeous wine now with white-peach, ripe green-apple, honeysuckle, crushed-stone and other mineral aromas that follow through to a full body with bright acidity and a lightly phenolic texture that spreads across the palate. Just coming into its own. Drink or hold.
