Tasting notes
The 2016 Chablis is aged for 18 months in stainless steel and 20% used oak. It has a taut, marine influence bouquet with sea spray scents intermingling with lemon rind and gunflint. The palate is fresh and precise, a very harmonious Chablis Village with a lovely, poised, slightly reduced finish that lingers in the mouth and then a deft spicy aftertaste. Excellent. Tasted blind at the BIVB Chablis tasting.

The 2016 Chablis offers up notes of grapefruit, green apple and rock salt, followed by a medium-bodied, open-knit and delicately honeyed palate. It's clean and correct but somewhat diffuse.
Here too there is good Chablis typicity to the slightly fresher aromas of white orchard fruit, iodine and once again, a whiff of petrol. I very much like the mouth feel of the highly energetic and saliva-inducing medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a long if ever-so-slightly warm finish. Still, this is very pretty and worth checking out if you’re looking for high-quality early-drinking Chablis. January 2018. www.burghound.com
