Quite dark crimson. Fresh and zesty. Open and relatively light. Zesty on the palate too. ‘Grand cru lite’ but certainly competent. (JR)

(from vines planted before WWII): Good bright red. Tight, pure nose exudes scents of dark cherry, bitter chocolate, violet and licorice. Juicy, precise and savory but more reticent and backward today, and less pliant, than the Estournelles. In a distinctly cool, almost severe style, currently dominated by its structure.
