This is the Patagonian outfit in which Incisa della Rochetta of Sassicaia fame has an interest and very exciting it is too. This is not one of the top bottlings based on their really ancient vines but has real interest and no heaviness. Light ruby colour an rather earthier and a tad more tannin than the average red burgundy – plus just a hint of rusty nails. But this is a really well made wine delivering lots of interesting fruit by anyone's standards. Drink it within a day or two of opening and serve with something lightly chewy – lamb chops? Attractive natural freshness. (JR)
