Score 93/100 · Drink 2016-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2016
The 1956 Rivesaltes has a fine dried honey, mandarin and burnt toffee-scented bouquet that is well defined, quite intense the glass, more so than the 1955 counterpart. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious, lightly honeyed entry, well-judged acidity and what feels like less volatility than the 1954 and 1955. There is a seam of lemongrass that makes its presence felt right on the finish. This is lovely.

Bottled 2015. Pale tawny. Heavy and sweaty on the nose. Big and sweet. Flattering wine that’s just a little too sweet. No tension. (JR)
