Tasting notes
The 2011 Barolo Cerretta is well-tamed and elegant, with a lot of ripe fruit and good linearity. It produces dried cherry notes, and overall, I am impressed with its linear elegance.

Lustrous ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Sweet spice and cherry rising up from the glass. Good depth. Quite sweet and a little rich with almost fully integrated acidity. Pretty accessible in spite of the persistent grainy tannic structure. (WS)
Cask sample. Dark ruby. Very closed and reluctant on the nose and quite contrary to the impression that the 2011s are ready now. Very backward with electrifying acidity and tactile coating tannins. Hints of orange. Lean, and linear and energetic and not ready yet. (WS)
